Nationals at Marlins 8.28.12 A Work in Progress

Stephen Strasburg is visiting Marlins Park in one of his final starts of the season. And currently for the slumping Nationals, things are not going well.

Strasburg gave up a home run to Justin Ruggiano, the second batter of the game, in the first inning. Carlos Lee followed that up with a double, and scored on a single by the next batter, Giancarlo Stanton. In the bottom of the third, Greg Dobbs scored two on a single, and Justin Ruggiano has added an RBI of his own in the fourth.

On the other side of the ball, Ricky Nolasco is dealing for the Fish. So far, the only Nats batters to reach have been Jayson Werth, who led off the game with a grounder to third, which was botched by Greg Dobbs, and Danny Espinosa who reached first on a third-strike wild pitch. Ricky has not allowed a hit through four and two thirds innings.

Scratch that. Kurt Suzuki just singled for Washington’s first hit, but Miami escaped the inning.

Marlins lead 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth.
