The Fredericksburg Nationals opened their almost-complete stadium to the general public for a few days of open houses this month.

The Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Washington Nationals, the F’Nats moved down I-95 from Woodbridge, Virginia after the 2019 season. Now, the team will play in a new ballpark in Celebrate Virginia, which sits next to the busy Central Park shopping center in Fredericksburg.

The new Fredericksburg ballpark sits approximately 6,000 fans around the infield. The outfield is bordered by a fully-accessible concourse that includes both a jumbotron and a hand-operated scoreboard. In left field, an home run porch will be a standing-room area available to all fans in the park.

The open house tour showcased a few group and premium seating areas.

The terrace seats along both the right and left field lines feature picnic and high-top tables where fans will be served by a wait staff and have access to an exclusive food menu. These tickets are only available as season packages.

In right-center field, a party deck is backed by the hand-operated scoreboard, which will actually be updated by the fans in that section.

On the field level in left, a group section allows fans to view the game through the chain link fence and take swings in the teams’ batting cages behind the field.

The playing surface and dugouts are Major League quality features that are immeasurable upgrades over Pfitzner Stadium, where the team played previously.

Although the concourse, press box, and suites are unfinished, the ballpark is sure to be completed by the time fans are allowed to watch live baseball again.

Make sure to listen to the podcast where Steve and Joe dive into the details of the stadium and feature some of the best viewing spots.
