Uggla Takes the Prize

In the Atlanta Braves’ demolition derby of the Miami Marlins Tuesday night, Dan Uggla had a performance for the ages. Not only was he 4-5 with 5 RBI and 2 HRs, but he also hit his 200th career blast and simultaneously won my sculpture contest.

Soon after Marlins Park opened in April, I decided that the home run feature needed to go, and I gave a few good reasons. So I promised that I would write a 1,200-word blog entry analyzing the batting stance and swing of the first player who hit the sculpture. And to the first person who makes it dysfunctional in any way, shape, or form, I’d make it 2,000 words.

I have started working on the special post for Uggla, it is now up to 650 words, and I should have it published by Monday.
